The Auction Expert Selling Guide
#2 Art
Have a black
velvet Elvis you'd like to unload? Eager to get rid of that
sad-eyed clown painting your Aunt Hortense gave you for
Christmas?
Many of The Auction Expert's customers are interested in
selling artworks on eBay. In addition to paintings, prints and
photographs, we also accept sculptures, statues, mobiles,
relics, ceremonial artifacts, and just about any other form of
art you can think of - but with a few restrictions:
- Framed artwork must be no larger than 11"x14".
- The piece must have an estimated eBay value of at least
$50. Uncertain what it's worth? Call us and we'll look
it up for you.
- The item must not be restricted
by eBay.
Factors that can affect the
value of your piece include:
- how well-known the artist is
- whether the piece is signed and numbered (e.g., is it a
Limited Edition print?)
- having a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
- the quality of the frame (Is it on acid-free matting and
under UV-coated glass?)
- the condition of the artwork itself (is it clean and
free from damage? Has it been stored properly?)
- how much it will cost to ship (very heavy or delicate
items may be prohibitively expensive)
It's doubtful
that you have a Van Gogh stored away in your attic (though if
you do, we'd love to sell it for you!) But we're happy to look
at any artwork that meets our criteria (sorry, Elvis), so call us
at 1-877-SELL-4-YOU (1-877-735-5496) and we will be happy to discuss
your item(s) and arrange for pick-up.
